AI is taking the world now a days and they are making our work much much easier than anyone ever thought before . The one we will be discussing today is GITHUB COPILOT . Don’t worry I will not let you sleep ! by telling about it . For those who don’t know then in short it is a AI based program which help to write the code faster by auto-completing the snippets . How to use GITHUB COPILOT for free ?

When Github released this at very early stage it was available for free for developers to test and report bugs , but now it is officially released and it has a cost ! It comes with a 10$/month or 100$ / year subscription but if your have a student id or you belong to any famous large public repository or contributed to it then you can use this tool for free ! but after verifying this , also GITHUB provides a 30 day free trial to all , see here .

You should use it or not ?

If you are a beginner or just started your developer journey then I will clearly suggest you to not go for it and avoid it , I am saying this because of several reasons :

1. If you start using it then you can no doubt code faster but you will miss your important concepts which you probably have to learn if you code manually .

2. Github Copilot produces the most relevant code to use but at last it is a machine and they can make mistakes so it is very important to review the ai generated code before deploying it to production . One mistake can cost you a lot .

3. It comes with a cost ! If have access to GitHub copilot for free then you can give it a try and learn from it in test environment by comparing the your code with ai generated code but if you don’t have access then I will not suggest you to purchase it unless your fundamentals are very well cleared and you are earning much to afford it .
